Looking for the perfect gift to make for someone special. This amigurumi teddy bear pattern will make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift for all ages, especially children who can cuddle and carry it everywhere they go.

GENERAL PATTERN INFORMATION

Firstly, you will find this crochet pattern very easy to follow with clear written instructions and lots of process photos to help you on your way. As a result, this teddy bear pattern is great for advanced crocheters and beginners alike.

You will work this amigurumi bear pattern in continuous rounds and it uses only basic crochet stitches (see abbreviations listed above). The best part about this amigurumi pattern is that it can be made up quickly so if you can’t decide who to give to you can easy make more. You can customise each bear with new colours to make each bear a unique Valentines Gift.

What yarn can I use?  This pattern is best suited to cotton or acrylic yarn. However, you can make your stuffed animal using most yarn types. For the finished size of your teddy bear plush to be 7in, you should use a light 4ply weight yarn for your bear. In order to create a larger crochet toy, you can increase the thickness of your yarn. With this in mind, you will also need to increase your hook size.

Hook size? The crochet hook you choose will depend on the thickness of the yarn you are using. For example, you should use a smaller hook than what is on your yarn label. As this will prevent your toy stuffing from showing through your work.

Additionally, this pattern includes both UK/US crochet terminology.
